Tome Ladder
wordTome Ladder is a free, offline-friendly word game with no typing, no spelling and no searching. A page of an old tome has lost its words: the lattice of ruled boxes is empty and the words that fell out are lying on the desk as slips. One run of boxes on the page is live under the restorer's nib. Tap a slip and it slides into that run letter by letter, inking the boxes. Where two runs cross, the shared box belongs to both - one word's third letter is another word's first - so a slip that fits one run may make a neighbouring run impossible, and that constraint is the whole puzzle. Every word in the game is visible on the desk from the start; you never invent one and you are never gated on vocabulary. Fill every run and the page is whole. It is a no-fail restoration: a wrong placement lifts back out, so a session ends when you close the book rather than when you fail.
