Über Oath Deck

Oath Deck is a card game about promising first and then playing inside the promise: take down an oath tablet that binds how you may take tiles, take tiles from the court row that keep it, then strike the gavel to reckon — kept oaths pay seals, and breaking one is allowed at a posted price of two seals instead of ending the run. Several oaths stand on the rack at once and can contradict each other, a fulfilled oath lets you draft one permanent standing seal, and the audiences keep escalating until your seal rail runs out.

Spielanleitung

Tap an oath tablet on the rack to swear it (desktop: keys 1-4). The tablet names a rule your taking must obey, and it stays with you for several audiences. Then tap tiles in the court row to take them into your tray (keys A-H); tap a tile in the tray to put it back (Z). Take at least three tiles, then strike the gavel to reckon (Space or Enter): every oath you kept pays seals and ticks its term down, and an oath that survives its full term is fulfilled — you then draft one permanent standing seal that lasts the rest of the run. You may take a tile that breaks a sworn oath: it costs 2 seals and cracks that tablet, which is a priced choice, not an error. There is no clock and no win screen. You start with 14 seals on the rail, the court fee and the oaths get harder each audience, and the run ends when the rail reaches zero — clemency covers you once per run if you have already fulfilled three oaths. Your score is how many audiences you held; reaching audiences 1, 4, 7 and 10 leaves an oath rank you can open at on your next run. Escape pauses; nothing runs down while you are away.
