About Duel Clock

Duel Clock is a free, offline-friendly duelling game where the round always runs its full length. Most fighting games end the moment you make one bad read; here the clock is the structure, so a mistake costs you ground on the round rather than the session. Each round is a fixed number of beats and you and your opponent commit simultaneously on every beat - strike beats grab, grab beats guard, guard beats strike - with your opponent's tell shown before the beat resolves, so reading it is a skill you can actually practise rather than a coin flip. Winning rounds banks progress along a named ladder and losing one just moves the ladder back a step, so the duel keeps going and the pressure comes from the score line rather than from sudden death. Later rounds add a beat and tighten the tells, and a clean-streak bell rings when you string reads together. It plays the same on touch and keyboard, and the whole thing runs offline.

How to play

On every beat pick one of three commitments before the timer bar empties: strike, grab or guard. They resolve as a triangle - strike beats grab, grab beats guard, guard beats strike - and both sides commit at the same time, so you are reading rather than reacting. Your opponent shows a tell just before the beat resolves; learn what each tell precedes and you will start winning exchanges on purpose. A round is a fixed number of beats and always plays out in full, so a bad read costs ground on the round, never the session. Win a round to move up the named ladder, lose one and you step back down - either way the next round starts. Chain clean reads to ring the streak bell. Later rounds add beats and shorten the tells.
